Turn around: l'epopea di Bonnie Tyler
Esiste una categoria di persone che ha compiuto una sola grande cosa nella vita e non ha avuto più bisogno di altro. Cristoforo Colombo ha scoperto l'America. Marconi ha inventato la radio. Rocco Siffredi si è guardato tra le gambe. Alcune persone, insomma, si assicurano la pensione con un singolo atto.
Gli anni '80 sono stati la fabbrica del nulla, ma questo nulla, a differenza di quello presentato da Ende nella sua "Storia Infinita", si è limitato ad inghiottire la concorrenza. Alcuni cantanti, nello specifico, hanno composto o semplicemente cantato un pezzo che rimarrà negli annali della storia, a ragione o per la sua stupidità, od ancora per le zinne di chi cantava, si pensi, ad esempio, a Sabrina Salerno.
Nel Galles, una gallinella ha trovato le sue uova d'oro. Aiutata dalla leggendaria E-street Band di Bruce Springsteen, una giovane Bonnie Tyler, stressata dalla difficoltà di arrivare al successo, ha creato la hit perfetta: Total Eclipse of the Heart.
Ingredienti per un brano "pietra miliare":
- qualche gemito
- un urlo registrato durante un periodo "down"
- un pianoforte
- un corista sottopagato che emetta strazianti lamenti per tutta la canzone, allo scopo di mettere in risalto la voce della bella (?) cantante
- la fortuna di aver creato, inconsapevolmente, un brano di nicchia, per quanto pronto a colonizzare ogni classifica.
Ebbene sì, ogni pezzo rimasto sulla cresta dell'onda per decenni è legato ad un cliché, ad una categoria di persone che ne hanno fatto la loro bandiera.
Pensiamo ad esempio a "Nel blu dipinto di blu": Modugno - sembra - si fosse trovato un assegno per pagare le spese di registrazione dall'Alitalia. Tuttora i lavoratori precari della compagnia di bandiera si affacciano dal gate sognanti, fischiettando "Volare - oh oh".
Tutti i paninari abusivi o simili si riconoscono in "Popcorn e patatine" di Nino d'Angelo, tradotta ormai in tutte le lingue.
Ma c'è una classe di persone che vive nell'ombra, che spesso non ha il coraggio di parlare della sua "doppia vita", che prova comunque sentimenti, ha aspirazioni ed è bravissima a spendere soldi: la gente del night. No, non sto parlando della gente della notte di Jovanotti, mi riferisco a dipendenti e frequentatori di night club, lap dance, table dance e supermercati tedeschi.
Le prime note di pianoforte di Total Eclipse of the Heart sono state studiate, qualcuno afferma, dagli stessi scienziati che hanno creato l'atomica, le camere a gas e le figurine Panini, allo scopo di colpire i recettori nervosi specifici della gente del night. Si è scoperto, infatti, che esiste qualcosa nel cervello di tali avventori che li spinge inconsciamente ad estrarre una banconota ed infilarla nell'elastico del perizoma della prima ragazza a portata di mano. E'per questo che a loro è vietato l'ascolto di questa canzone fuori alla luce del giorno: un uomo nel 2000 è stato arrestato a bordo di un Eurostar per molestie ad una capotreno. Era solo colpa di Bonnie Tyler e della sua tecnologia aliena, ma ora questo martire è felice, ascolta "Total Eclipse" abbracciato al perizoma del suo secondino preferito.
In OGNI locale di lap dance questa canzone è il lancio dello spettacolo lesbo. E'una legge non scritta che pare sia stata tramandata oralmente (non fate battute) fin dai tempi dell'impero romano: se un gestore vuole mostrare uno spettacolino tra due donne in un locale DEVE avere il disco di Bonnie Tyler. Conseguenza diretta di questo è che fino agli anni '80 tali show erano vietati, al loro posto c'era la ragazza audiolesa del tg4 a mimare il testo della canzone.
Grazie a questo pezzo la serata prende vita secondo un copione studiato da anni: schiuma da barba, baccinella d'acqua e salvietta da strusciare prima addosso a sé, poi al pubblico (ben) pagante.
Il personaggio tipico dei locali lap dance, tipicamente 55 anni, un po'sovrappeso, occhiali che riflettono il sudore dello sguardo e slip contenitivi sotto i larghi pantaloni, inizia a piangere al solo accenno di once upon a time I was falling in love. Eppure non ha mai imparato l'inglese, lui sa solo il fransé. Non importa, Bonnie è universale. Avrebbe potuto anche cantare con gli Haiducii ma avrebbe condotto in una valle di lacrime anche Leopardi.
Geniale è la sua trovata di fare uscire le tonsille durante l'ultimo together we can take it to the end of the line e la successiva breve pausa con crescendo di piano, in grado di far piangere contemporaneamente grosse adunanze di persone. Si narra che la setta dei Davidiani del pazzo David Koresh, prima del suicidio di massa a Waco, abbia ascoltato 10 volte questa canzone in religiosissimo silenzio.
Altro campo dove Bonnie spadroneggia sono le pubblicità dei telefoni erotici: i numeri vincenti hanno una sola colonna sonora.. indovinate quale!
Ora Bonnie Tyler vive in una Eldorado, ha una villa dove dal dispenser del frigo escono biglietti da mille lire, recapitati via posta pneumatica dai lap dance di tutto il mondo. Fuori dalla porta della sua reggia stazionano per tutto il giorno mogli disperate e semplici curiosi, prossimo è il suo trasferimento a Neverland per fare compagnia a Michael Jackson e fare lì incontrare mogli disperate e padri incazzati. Riuscirà anche in questo miracolo?
